An excuse to bundle up in front of a roaring fireplace, with your favorite beverage, book, and companion. Watch the snow from your window, enjoy the beauty as it falls gently on the hills and mountains, near and far. Is that Mozart streaming, so clear it feels as though your in the concert hall. Maybe the kids want to make a snowman? Layer them up and let them play, but not for too long, it’s just too cold. They come back rosy-cheeked, glowing with the little man they just created, ‘frosty, jr.’  The hot chocolate is ready for them, as you peel the layers off and the little ones emerge. Such joy!

Now is the time to turn off the news, the daily politics, just for a little while. Yes, you want to keep up with world events, but not today. Today you want to warm the body and the soul, breathe deeply, and just ‘be’. If you dare, you might even turn off your cell phone, not forever, just for today. A day to ‘tune out’, relax and restore.

It will all be there when you return.

But, just not today.
